Summary: When the Enterprise speeds into the neutral zone to the rescue the Starship Yamato, which is suffering system failures, the Enterprise begins to suffer similar system failures. This occurs after Enterprise downloads the destroyed Yamato’s data logs. Enterprise heads to the Yamato’s last known planet fall, the ancient mythical lost planet of the Iconians.However, can Capt. Picard and Data find the solution to the Enterprise’s problems before their ship is destroyed, too?

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: When the bridge crew are in the conference room discussing the demise of the Yamato, the background stars move in contradictory directions. Behind Geordi, they move left to right while behind Picard they move right to left. Due to the orientation of people in the conference room, both directions are incorrect. Behind Geordi would indicate the ship is moving to starboard, while behind Picard would indicate the ship is moving to port. Neither indicate the ship is actually moving forward.
CONT: In "Where Silence Has Lease", the Yamato's registry number was NCC 1305-E. Now, in "Contagion" it has become NCC 71887.
CONT: While taking the wild turbolift ride to the bridge, a line of sweat appears on La Forge's back. But when he's thrown onto the bridge a moment later, the line of sweat is gone.
CHAR: After beaming back to the Enterprise from the Romulan Ship, Captain Picard accidentally says "Bridge to Picard" instead of "Picard to Bridge" when trying to contact the helm.
CONT: Captain Picard is reviewing the logs of the captain of the U.S.S. Yamato. The time/date stamp of one log entry jumps about 15 hours between scenes. The two following entries then have those very same time indexes again respectively.

TRIVIA

When Picard, Data, and Worf are on Iconia, several scenes keep repeating in the Iconian transportation device. During the cycle one scene that appears several times is a picture of a building with two rounded towers; this building is the City Hall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The concept of the Iconian Gateway is later revisited in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993) {To the Death (#4.22)}. In that episode, a similar Iconian gateway is discovered on a planet in the Gamma Quadrant under control of rogue Jem'Hadar soldiers.
Thalmus Rasulala's last TV appearance; he died of heart failure shortly after.
