Summary: Stardate 41723.9 A Ferengi captain, Bok, offers to return the Starfleet vessel Stargazer, the ship which was Capt. Picard's first command. Strangely, Bok asks for no compensation for the vessel which Capt. Picard had abandoned during the battle of Maxia. However, Bok’s ulterior motive is revenge on Picard for the death of his son during that battle. Bok tells the crew that the Stargazer’s log show that Picard really fired on an unarmed Ferengi ship in the famous “Battle of Maxia.”Bok has also planted a mind control device on the Stargazer. The device causes Picard, after he beams back to the Stargazer, to believe he is back fighting the battle of Maxia, and believing the Enterprise is the opposing Ferengi vessel.

The title is based upon the school yard game of hide and seek where one player must find the other players who have concealed themselves within a designated area.
The only episode in a Star Trek series featuring Q in which Q does NOT appear in any scene wearing a Starfleet Captain's uniform. Apart from appearing in a Starfleet Admiral's uniform at the beginning, he does wear his typical red uniform as a Commander when talking to Riker on the planet, and a yellow one as a Lieutenant Commander when mimicking Data.
