Episode Quotes

Sub-Commander T'Pol: [referring to Zobral] What you told him was correct. Decisions to get involved in conflicts of other worlds should be left to governments, not starship captains.
Captain Jonathan Archer: I know. The irony is, I have the feeling his cause is worth fighting for.
Captain Jonathan Archer: The warp reactor. Break it down for me.
Commander Charles 'Trip' Tucker III: What?
Captain Jonathan Archer: What are the eight major components?
Commander Charles 'Trip' Tucker III: You gotta be kiddin' me.
Captain Jonathan Archer: Name them. That's an order!
Commander Charles 'Trip' Tucker III: Well, the... there's the drumsticks... thighs... wings... You got anything to eat around here?
Lieutenant Malcolm Reed: You're the one who got our people stranded down there.
Zobral: They are not *my* responsibility!
Sub-Commander T'Pol: You're mistaken. The Torothans believe we've joined your cause. If Captain Archer and Commander Tucker are apprehended, they'll undoubtedly be treated as members of your clan. They'll become victims of the same oppression you've been fighting all these years. You should feel as responsible for those two men as you do for your own.

Trivia

  • Star Trek: Enterprise established an annual tradition of featuring crew members from the real-life aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65) in cameo roles. This first happened in this episode and continued in "Enterprise" (2001) {First Flight (#2.24)}. As a courtesy, advance copies of first season episodes were sent to the carrier.
  • In one scene Trip mentions it's "Hotter than Hell out there; 41 degrees." This is in the Celsius scale. In Fahrenheit this is approximately 105.8 degrees or roughly the equivalent of an average high temperature in Phoenix, AZ in July.
