Summary: Captain Archer is eager to investigate the dark surface of a "rogue" planet — one that has broken out of its orbit. Due to hot gas venting from the planet's interior, small oases have formed, and scans show a surprisingly large number of varied life forms within them. Lieutenant Reed also picks up a power signature — apparently, there is an alien ship on the surface, but it is unresponsive to hail attempts.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

FACT: Despite having no star to warm it, the warmth of the rogue planet is explained as coming from internal gases. Internal gases observed on Earth and other planets and moons is almost always toxic in nature and, therefore, would have killed the crew.
FAKE: Despite the fact the rogue planet has no moon, the surface, night shots are moonlit. Distant starlight would be much too faint to account for the illumination.
FACT: Despite there being no sunlight, we are shown a green, leafy jungle that could not exist without photosynthesis.
