Episode Quotes

Bu'kaH: There was a raid.
Captain Jonathan Archer: Yes?

Captain Jonathan Archer: I can understand your not wanting to talk about it if the raid went badly for you.
Bu'kaH: The Xarantines are no match for us! We attacked their outpost and took what we wanted.
Dr. Phlox: And that included some Xarantine ale?

Captain Jonathan Archer: Did your whole crew drink it?
Bu'kaH: The triumph belonged to all.
Captain Jonathan Archer: I'll take that as a yes.
Ensign Hoshi Sato: [trying to decipher the Klingon consoles] "pu'DaH... dak cha" - something they call 'photon torpedoes'.
Lieutenant Malcolm Reed: Photon torpedoes? Never heard of anything like that.
Lieutenant Malcolm Reed: Ah, the one time we need our Chief Engineer... is the one time we leave him behind.

Trivia

  • Vaughn Armstrong, who plays the recurring character of Admiral Forrest in this series, plays as a Klingon ship captain in this episode. Interestingly enough, Armstrong also played one of the first Klingons to appear in Star Trek: The Next Generation, as the Klingon renegade Korris in the episode "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (1987) {Heart of Glory (#1.19)}.
  • According to a DVD interview, Vaughn Armstrong was called shortly before shooting and told he was needed to fill the role of the Klingon Commander. The most challenging aspect of this sudden call, in his opinion, was having to deliver the Klingon language so precisely so as to not upset established Klingon language guidelines.
  • The title is based on the old saying "let sleeping dogs lie" or leave former disagreements in the past and do not resurrect them.
