This is the 3rd Star Trek. Now situate in a space station there are many more characters to interface with and allows for more sub plots about them. This is a worthy member of the Star Trek collection with good acting sets and storylines.
(but I would say that wouldn't I) Watch and you'll see I'm right.

BTW please only post reviews here not comments or questions which should be in the forums.

Thankyou Quark - Moderator

StarTrek - The classic SciFi show. Perhaps The Next Generation is the best but Deep Space Nine comes a close second. Characters such as Quark and Odo added much humour. There are many alien races and the shows are well scripted and acted. The series is so well made it's almost believable.

a great trek spin off true original in that untill the defient was dropped off they had no ship just the station so everything pretty much had to come to them and with the wormhole ideal it did come to them it is a shame the show was killed after worf arrived in season 4 the show just got strong and stronger the dominion war was the high point of that the cast was great and the writeing solid helpful comment/review

I think it was the writing, and the producers wanted to show more interpersonal, intimate relationships between different cultures, taking that look into that just a little bit deeper than ever before. There was the great 'Kirk and Uhura Kiss' we saw a few inter-racial and inter-species relationships in TNG, but they kept it pretty low key and almost everyone was a Fleeter, so when Duty called, they ran to. In DS9, we get to see what happens when one is bound by Duty and one is not in those relationships. I also like the fact that it's on a space station, with the options presented by the wormhole for new aliens!

I truly enjoyed DS9 and I feel it did keep up the ideals that Gene wanted to present.

I thought it was a great idea to have the bulk of the show set in one place not travelling hither and thither. Far easier to have so many different races some just incidental (background).
Babylon 5 comes a very poor second to this show.

Ah yes... Deep Soap opera 9, this was the beginning of the of the end of good Star trek on TV in my opinion. Despite singular strong performances and interesting characters like Odo and Quark, the writing or perhaps just the execution of it, really fell apart in this series. helpful comment/review
