Made losing Lost In Space a little easier to take. Wish it was in reruns on regular TV. |

I never was a big Star Trek fan but after watching a bunch of The Next Generation, I appreciated the original a whole lot more. The characters of the original didn't whine like the characters of TNG. Two of my favorite episodes of the original were the one with Khan and the one where a transporter malfunction produced two Captain Kirks. I also liked Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan. It's my favorite Star Trek movie. The very first Star Trek movie sucked. It wasn't worthy of the name Star Trek. I also didn't care much for Star Trek IV. When they made the Star Trek movie remake, thank God that they used the characters of the original and not the characters of The Next Generation. |

There isn't really much i have to say really... Star Trek was and is great, it was so ahead of it's time. It has a great bunch of charecters and a gripping story line where almost anything can happen. Awsome show! |

This is the fore-runner of what has become a sci-fi institution. The storylines all contain a moral dilemma of the day some so subtle that it may be days before you realise it. Whilst the sets to modern eyes may seem dated that's part of the appeal. Boldy go and get this series to view. Probably the most well known catch phrase of all started here. Live Long and Prosper so that you can revel in this The Original Series of Star Trek. BTW please only post reviews here not comments or questions which should be in the forums. This is indeed the best of them all. The acting is superb. If you look at some of Bill Shatner's early work you'll see that he did have a different acting style before Trek. As stated, the sets may appear to be low tech as we compare them to current and future technology, however, even in that there is a moral lesson, learning to do with what you have. They show many more advanced species having better tech, and if they can they try to obtain it, but they always manage to do just fine with the tools they have, and a little creativity. In my personal opinion, this will always be one of the greatest television shows ever. I remember the moral issues, and I remember most that they always tried to choose the most moral of all their options first. I learned my moral compass from Star Trek. All Hail the Great Bird! |

If you love Startrek in any of it's series guises. You cannot miss the Original. Without this the rest would never of happened. BTW a nice self imposed quiz is to work out what current (then) moral issue is being referred to in each episode. Some are obvious others are not, but there is one in every episode. (all 79 of them wow) |
