MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: After Maggie goes into the sickbay and tries to mesmerize McCoy, there is a discontinuity in the scenes when Bones is trying to convince her to pass by the medical scanner again.
CONT: When McCoy, Spock, and Scotty seem to be mesmerized by the women after they are beamed aboard, a close-up of McCoy shows him wearing his medical smock. All other shots of this scene show him without the smock.

This was one of three scripts submitted to NBC (along with "Star Trek" (1966) {Where No Man Has Gone Before (#1.3)} and "Star Trek" (1966) {The Omega Glory (#2.23)}) when they were seeking to do a second pilot for the series. They ultimately chose to kickstart the series with "Where No Man Has Gone Before".

Although Star Trek fans consider Harry Mudd to be one of the most memorable characters, he appears in only two episodes, and only one in the animated series.
Susan Denberg (playing Magda Kovacs) appeared in this episode two months after revealing herself as the Miss August 1966 centerfold in Playboy.
We learn that Lt. Farrell's first name is Johnny. This is the only episode in which he is referred to as anything other than Lt. Farrell.
