Summary: Kyle becomes sick and needs a kidney transplant, but his mother is convinced that natural cures from a New Age store are better. Kyle's condition gets worse, and it turns out that the only person who is a compatible kidney donor for Kyle is Cartman, and Cartman's not letting his kidney go without a fight. Meanwhile, Mr. Garrison is on forced leave from the school, and sets out to write a romance novel.

Mr. Garrison's novel "In the Valley of the Penises" spoofs Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970), the X-rated 1969 Russ Meyer (I) movie for which Roger Ebert, movie critic, wrote the screenplay. Trey Parker (I) was disgusted over Ebert's review for _South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999)_, citing ‘Beyond the Valley of the Dolls’ as a reason Ebert should have been more positive in his review.
Cartman sings a song consisting solely the word "no". This song is in the tune of "Comedy Tonight!" a song from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1966).
