Summary: Clark returns to Smallville re-programmed as Kal-El. Intent on fulfilling his destiny, Kal-El takes to the skies to steal a powerful kryptonite crystal. Meanwhile, Lois Lane comes to town to investigate the murder of her cousin Chloe. Also, Lana returns from Paris with a new attitude and a new boyfriend, Jonathan lies in a coma, and Lionel faces a grim new life in prison...

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: When Lana traces the likeness of Countess Margaret Isobel Thoreaux, she clearly starts on the left chest area, yet the first view of Lana's work is that of the Countess' face.

TRIVIA

SPOILER: The famous "no tights, no flights" rule is partially broken in this episode. When Clark, as his Kryptonian alter ego Kal-El, actually takes flight in order to retrieve the stone on board Lex's jet, at 20,000 feet.
SPOILER: Allison Mack' was temporarily removed from the opening credits of season four in order to keep fans guessing as to whether or not Chloe died. (she didn't.)
Erica Durance's first appearance as Lois Lane. She received guest star billing during season 4 but became a regular cast member at the beginning of season 5.
