Summary: Clark and his father come to a standoff as he joins the football team despite his father's wishes, ultimately discovering the coach has been altered by kryptonite and is using his fire-starter abilities to hurt anyone who gets in his way of winning. Lex, meanwhile, goes saber to saber with his father over the control of Luthor Corp.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CHAR: When confronted by the principal the coach gets angry and his TV catches fire. The principal walks out past a fire extinguisher and lets the fire burn. Wouldn't he try to put it out?
MISC: The episode begins with a football game in pouring rain. After the winning goal is scored, the crowd shots show the cheerleaders' hair wet and their uniforms completely dry.
CONT: Near the beginning, Clark, Chloe, and Pete walk past Lana and Whitney. In the following exchange between Lana and Whitney, two cheerleaders suddenly appear behind them. They're gone again as Lana walks away.
CONT: Principal Kwan states that there were seven football players found to be cheating, but when they coach calls the players out to find out who told Kwan that the coach supplied the answers, there are eight players.
CONT: As Lex is chalking his pool stick while talking to Dominic about cutting 20% of the workforce at the LuthorCorp Smallville plant, there is a red snooker ball on the wall rack missing from the second row. When Lex walks over to the other end of the pool table, the camera shot changes back to Dominic, now there is a ball missing from the top row, which was not missing before.
