• The house which served as Barnett's home was also used in the episode "Simon & Simon" (1981) {The Least Dangerous Game (#1.5)}
• Episode director Burt Kennedy made his name by writing and directing Western themed features as well as directing several TV Westerns as well.
• Built around a fictitious TV Western show, this episode guest stars several actors from TV Westerns of the 1950s and 60s. Stuart Whitman (The Cimmeron Strip), Alan Hale (Casey Jones), Pat Buttram (The Gene Autry Show), Jock Mahoney (The Range Rider), John Russell (The Lawman) and Hal Needham (Have Gun, Will Travel).
• When Rick and A.J. are walking along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the camera settles on James Garner's star. Garner starred in Support Your Local Sheriff! (1969) and Support Your Local Gunfighter (1971), both also directed by Burt Kennedy.
