An early pilot for Shattered was produced but never aired. Contributors to the pilot episode include Bobby Roth (Director), Gregory Middleton (Cinematographer), Ian D. Thomas (Production Designer), Cheryl Marion (Art Director), and actors Colin Cunningham, Quinn Lord, Gabrielle Rose, and John Cassini.
A third episode scheduled to air in Canada on September 15, 2010 was preempted and the following week the fourth episode was aired leaving the third episode unaired leaving many plot holes and unexplained developments.
Much of the footage and the storyline for the pilot was reused for episode 1.11 "Finding the Boy".
The set designers used some of Callum Keith Rennie's own paintings in the show. You can see them in Ben Sullivan's apartment, esp in the living room over the couch and in the hallway.
