Summary: Carrie has an awkward meal with Petrovsky's ex-wife and begins to wonder if she can ever live up to his ex. On the streets, Carrie meets some of her fans who want to throw Carrie a party. In New York, Samantha drives Smith away when her sex drive begins to fade, but Smith lets Samantha know that he has strong feelings for her, even when she has no sex drive. Charlotte and Harry finally receive good news about their adoption. Steve and Miranda agree to let his mother live with them after she has a stroke. Back in Paris, Petrovsky ends up slapping Carrie during a fight, and runs into Big, who is there to help her pick up the pieces.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: In the scene when Aleks and Carrie are talking by the bakery in Paris, Carrie is holding a pack of cigarettes and a cup of coffee. However, the cigarettes go from being on one side of the coffee cup to the other, throughout the scene.
CONT: When Carrie is in the hotel lobby talking to Alex and his daughter, the same woman passes behind Carrie three times, in the same direction.
CONT: When Steve's mum, Mary, goes missing, Miranda rushes out of the house to look for her, grabbing her coat and scarf on the way out the door. She has her scarf over her shoulder and is pulling it around her neck as we see her exiting the house from behind but when we see her from the front about to go down the steps she is pulling the scarf around her neck from a different position.
CONT: When Carrie is in the pastry shop, we see a long shot of her sitting against a three panel screen and her table is at the end panel, with no table next to her. When we get the close up of her, with the dog sitting next to her, her table is in the middle of the screen and the table next to her (with the dog) is in her original position.

10.62 million viewers watched the two-part finale on HBO in the US. The finale also garnered 5.8/13 in 18-49 demographics.
In the UK, 4.71 million viewers tuned in to the two-part finale on Channel 4, surpassing sixth season's average of 2.9 million viewers. Moreover, the finale won the 10:35pm hour slot, beating "Friday Night with Jonathan Ross" (2001) which received 2.9 million viewers on BBC One.
