Episode Quotes

Cosmo Kramer: [after Jerry tells Kramer he's moving to California] You're moving to California?
Jerry: Yeah!
Cosmo Kramer: But Jerry, what happens if the show's a hit? You could be out there for years. You might never come back!
Jerry: No, I'll be back.
Cosmo Kramer: Jerry, it's L.A., nobody leaves. She's a suductress, she's a siren, she's a virgin, she's a whore.
Elaine Benes: [notices Puddy leaving] Puddy! Don't wait for me!
David Puddy: [looking indifferent] All right.
Jerry Seinfeld: [In Prison] So what is the deal with the yard? I mean when I was a kid my mother wanted me to play in the yard. But of course she didn't have to worry about my next door neighbor Tommy sticking a shiv in my thigh. And what's with the lockdown? Why do we have to be locked in our cells? Are we that bad that we have to be sent to prison, in prison? You would think the weightlifting and the sodomy is enough.

Mistakes/Goofs

  • Goof (factual errors): When the prosecutors are preparing to try the group for breaking the Good Samaritan Law, the D.A. says that the main issue in the trial will be "character". Under the rules of evidence in criminal law, it is expressly forbidden for a prosecutor to initiate an attack on the defendant's character unless the defendant first attempts to offer evidence of good character.
  • Goof (factual errors): The Massachusetts "Good Samaritan Law" does not mandate that aid be provided, but rather prohibits the recipient from suing the provider for any injury suffered.
  • Goof (continuity error): The airplane on the ground at the airport in NYC is not the same plane shown flying in the air.
  • Goof (revealing mistake): While Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer are witnessing the robbery of the Massachusettian, the reflection of the police officer is visible in the store window just over Kramer's left shoulder. The officer is waiting for his cue to join the scene but has inadvertently already made his appearance; had his visibility been intentional, he too would have been guilty of breaking the Good Samaritan Law because he was idly watching the robbery.
  • Goof (continuity error): The business jet that the four fly to Paris is clearly an Eclipse or something similar, as the jet has wing-tip tanks, on the ground. When it cuts to the in-flight scene, it is clearly a Cessna or Bombardier business jet, missing the wing-tip tanks. After it has landed in Latham, it once again has the tip tanks.

Trivia

  • Because of the immense amount of scrutiny around the plot of the final episode, security during production was high. Audience members who attended the taping (most of whom were family and friends of those involved with the show) had to sign affidavits swearing not to reveal the events of the episode.
  • The U.S. West Coast airing of the finale of Seinfeld coincided with the death of Frank Sinatra. Sinatra's ambulance was able to arrive at his home and then to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center very quickly in light traffic, due to many in Los Angeles being indoors to watch the show.
  • According to the "Notes about Nothing" feature in the season 9 DVD release, Kramer enters Jerry's apartment 389 times over the course of the series.
  • Last show of the series.
  • In the very first episode, the first conversation was between George and Jerry about a button. In the very last episode, when they were sitting in jail, the last conversation they had was the same thing about the button.
