Summary: Turk joins J.D. in the winner's circle after he performs his first solo surgery brilliantly, leaving Elliot struggling to find her own defining moment. Meanwhile, J.D. gains some insight into the life of the Janitor that sheds new light on his intriguing history.

In the beginning of the episode, the footage of J.D. and Carla's car driving off the road and crashing was recycled footage from the film Vanilla Sky (2001).
The scene where the car drives off the bridge is from Vanilla Sky (2001).
Actual footage of Neil Flynn (Janitor), who played a Transit Cop in The Fugitive (1993) is used as a mistaken identity plot device for this episode.
J.D. thinks that the Janitor is in the movie 'Fugitive, The (1993)' (with Harrison Ford (I)). Real footage from the movie is used in this episode, and in fact actor Neil Flynn (Janitor) plays the role of a cop in the scene.
