Casper Van Dien appears in this episode as a student. Both he and Elizabeth Berkley would later star in Paul Verhoeven films: Berkley in Showgirls and Van Dien in Starship Troopers.
When Zack accidentally hurts a duck, he says its not a case for L.A. Law (produced by Steven Bochco). Twenty years later, Mark-Paul Gosselaar was playing a lawyer on Raising the Bar, also produced by Bochco.
