- Drew Barrymore was the youngest person ever to host the show, at the age of 7 years, 8 months and 29 days.
- During this episode, a phone-in poll was held in which viewers could vote whether Andy Kaufman should be allowed back on the show or if he should be banned for life. The result was 169,186 votes to keep Kaufman and 195,544 votes to ban him. Kaufman had come up with the idea of the poll but was very disappointed with the results.
- At 7 years, 8 months and 29 days old, Drew Barrymore is the youngest ever to host the show.
- This was supposed to be Squeeze's final concert. But they reformed in 1985.
