• This episode features a well-known blooper. In a sketch, Candice Bergen and Gilda Radner play extremely stupid people. Bergen plays a character named "Fern" and Radner plays "Lisa". But she accidentally says to Gilda Radner "You're not too bright, are you, Fern?". Both actresses break character and laugh but Radner quickly improvises "You know, we all can't be be brainy like Fern here." causing Bergen to laugh hysterically through the rest of the sketch. This sketch helped this episode to be nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy-Variety or Music Series.
• Candice Bergen was a commercial spokesperson for Polaroid at the time of this episode. The company was not happy with the FX-70 Cheese Slicer sketch in which Bergen parodies her own commercials. The sketch featured a Polaroid camera that dispenses a slice of cheese instead of a picture.
