In "Literary Recital", Aykroyd introduces Desi as "Desmond Arnaz". Desi is short for Desiderio.
During the "Weekend Update" coverage of the week's developments in the Patricia Hearst trial, a clip of the Max Fleischer cartoon Betty Boop's Trial (1934) was passed off as an 'Artist's Rendering' of the action in the court. It is likely at least in part for copyright reasons relating to the showing of this cartoon that the entire edition of "Update" was left off this show when E! Entertainment Television aired it in the early 2000s; it was, however, included when aired in hour-long syndicated form in the 1980s.
