TRIVIA
- Dick Cavett ends his monologue by shooting a life-size stuffed cow out of the sky. The cow-dropping bit is a take-off on Monty Python's "16-ton weight" gag, designed to end a sketch without having to write an actual ending.
- At the end of the last "Lowell Brock" sketch, Lorne Michaels played a prank on John Belushi by tying his shoelaces together. There is a shot of Michaels crawling away from Belushi and Belushi falling as victim to the prank.
- The show ran long and the good nights cut off after the Delta Airlines and Brooks Van Horne credits. Reruns use the credits from Cavett's November '76 show.
- Dick Cavett appears in only one sketch with a show cast member, "Looks at Books" with Chevy Chase. Cavett appears by himself for the rest of his sketches in this episode.
