This episode's title is taken from a 1970 comedic stage play about a man who discovers his son is a homosexual. Interestingly, the film version of Norman... Is That You? (1976) starred Redd Foxx (I) in the role played on Broadway by Lou Jacobi. Bringing it full circle, Jacobi played a variation of Foxx's Fred Sanford character in the fifth season episode "Steinberg and Son."
