Episode Quotes

Aaron Pittman: Yeah. I used to work at this place called Google.
Charlotte 'Charlie' Matheson: That was a computer thing, right?
Aaron Pittman: Now... it's nothing. $80 million in the bank, and I would trade it all right now for a roll of Charmin.
Ben Matheson: Morning, Aaron.
Aaron Pittman: Hey, Ben.
Ben Matheson: You look terrible.
Aaron Pittman: I was up all night. Had a menage-a-raccoon in my backyard.

Mistakes/Goofs

  • Goof (factual errors): Dial-up modems would be utterly useless during a worldwide blackout. Even if you could get both computers powered up and running the network infrastructure necessary to dial out is still non-functional.
  • Goof (revealing mistake): Powerless aircraft plunge from the sky but their lights are still on.
  • Goof (errors in geography): 15 years after everything turns off, several city skylines are shown. The image for the St. Louis skyline, looking from Illinois, is reversed.
  • Goof (continuity error): As the cars stall on the freeway the electrical disruption moves slowly, the cars stop like dominoes jumping a few feet per second. In the view of earth from space the electrical disruption moves quickly, covering hundreds of miles per second.

Trivia

  • Many characters in shows usually have names that describe their character or are references to their characters inner self. For example; Miles Matheson, who is "good at killing" is a soldier. His first name, Miles, is a derived name from Latin, where Miles in Latin means soldier, or legionnaire.
