Red Dwarf (UK)

Arnold Judas Rimmer BSC SSC ("Bronze Swimming Certificate" and "Silver Swimming Certificate") is the second-lowest ranking member of the crew on Red Dwarf: a fussy, bureaucratic, neurotic coward, who is in fact the one responsible for the Red Dwarf cadmium II accident that killed the entire crew (along with himself). Nevertheless, he is chosen by Holly to be the ship's one available hologram. Rimmer was the chosen hologram because he was the person who Lister shared the most sentences with and therefore the person most likely to keep Lister sane.

Persuaded by his other dimensional alter ego Ace Rimmer, he leaves this dimension and the Red Dwarf crew behind to become the new Ace Rimmer. Later, he is brought back to life by nanobots, which also rebuilt Red Dwarf and the rest of the crew.

At the end of the series he comes face to face with Death, though he is last seen kicking Death in the groin.
