Bret Harrison was cast based on his work in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1999) {Guilt (#3.18)}, which producers Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters also wrote. His character in that was also named Sam.
In the original version of "Reaper" (2007) {Pilot (#1.1)} the role of Andi was played by Nikki Reed. All her scenes were eventually re-shot with Missy Peregrym as Andi. Though, there existed a version of the pilot episode in which Reed can be seen as Andi.
