Summary: Gus' Uncle Burton is in town. This wouldn't ordinarily be a problem, except that Gus' family has mistakenly understood him to be the psychic and Shawn his assistant. To make matters worse, Shawn invites Uncle Burton along to the crime scene so that he can see his nephew in all his psychic glory. Here, they discover a dead restaurant critic, Vance Wagner. Shawn believes that Mr. Wagner has been poisoned, and as they research who might be responsible for the crime, Uncle Burton continues to tag along. Gus is forced to keep up his charade as psychic and learns that Shawn's job isn't as easy as he may have thought.

CONT: When Shawn is trying to get a job at the Mirror, he impresses editor Phil Pritikin by deducing that the editor is left-handed. However, in several scenes, Pritikin can be seen writing with his right hand.

Starting with this episode, and continuing over the next several episodes, Lassiter has his arm in a sling. While the cause of the character's injury is never revealed, the show's production blog states that actor Timothy Omundson broke his collarbone while mountain-biking to work.
