MISTAKES/GOOFS

FACT: The two brothers seek a presidential pardon. However, the brothers were serving their time in a state prison and were most likely convicted of state crimes, not federal crimes. A presidential pardon is only effective against violations of federal law. In order to be pardoned for their offenses the brothers would need a pardon from the Governor of Illinois, not the President of the United States.
