Pretty Little Liars
Based on a book, Pretty Little Liars follows four best friends (Spencer, Hanna, Aria & Emily) whose clique falls apart after the disappearance of their queen bee, Alison. Three years later, estranged friends reunite when they begin receiving messages from someone using the name "A" who threatens to expose their secrets - including long-hidden ones they thought only Alison knew.

The world of Pretty Little Liars is growing. ABC Family announced today a spinoff of the series. The spinoff, called Ravenswood, will focus on a town near Rosewood, Pennsylvania, which has suffered for generations under a deadly curse. This builds off this year's Pretty Little Liars Halloween episode and the spinoff will premiere in October

- Alexis Denisof was originally cast as Byron, but before the pilot was replaced by Chad Lowe.
- Ashley Tisdale was offered an audition but didn't take it, and instead went to an audition for 'Hellcats' and got the role.
- In the book series, Alison's disappearance takes place the summer before the girls went into 8th grade, 3 years prior to the series beginning. In the T.V. show it only takes place 1 year earlier.
