Tony Petrocelli is a Harvard-educated attorney of Italian descent who left the big-city rat race and headed west. He and his wife, Maggie, are roughing it in a trailer while their new home is still under construction. They face hardships in this new environment - getting along financially because so many of his clients can't afford to pay him.
