Canceled on 24 January 2000, just weeks after Neve Campbell announced she was leaving the award-winning show to concentrate on a film career.
'Jerry OConnell was originally cast as Bailey Salinger. He quit the role, just before the pilot was filmed, to star as Quinn in "Sliders" (1995).
The producers originally wanted a younger actress to play Julia but thought Neve Campbell's attitude suited the role.
The role of Sarah was meant to be a nine episode character but the producers liked Jennifer Love Hewitt's performance and made her a regular.
Jennifer Love Hewitt was the only actor to actually be a teen playing a teen in the early seasons.
Danielle Harris was considered for the role of Claudia Salinger.
This is the only time the title of the show is named. Charlie is working for Joe and the family comes in to have their regular weekly dinner together. Joe asks the waitress to get a table ready for "The Salinger party of five".
