TRIVIA

Harley Jane Kozak was originally cast as Karen Sammler and portrayed the character in the pilot episode. After backing out due to her pregnancy, she was replaced by Susanna Thompson, who re-shot all of Kozak's scenes in the pilot episode and played the character for the entire run of the series. Kozak later turned up as Lily and Jake's very pregnant mediator in the first season episode "Mediation".
