• In the final shot of the series finale, the camera starts to drift over the empty 15th Precinct squadroom before moving out of the frame as the final shot fades to black. Director Mark Tinker said that this show symbolized the show's audience "passing on" as the show ended its run, while knowing that the characters they loved were continuing their unseen lives.
