Summary: Salem Jones comes across Cuffey’s camp in the woods and the two make plans. At Petersburg, Tom the drummer-boy is badly wounded and George & Orry finally meet each other in battle.George is present when Lee surrenders to Grant at Appomattox Court House in Virginia. Sam Green tries to keep Virgilia from being arrested, but when she gets in the way of his political advancement, he decides to drop her, so she kills him.After the war, George finds Orry, then helps him find Madeline. They return to Mont Royal to help fight off an attack by Cuffey’s raiders, but the bad guys burn down Mont Royal.
