An English detective is temporarily assigned to a position in the San Francisco PD. But he is very clumsy. eg he walks in introduces himself and promptly puts his umbrella through the glass on Lt. Gennero's door. "Careful Eddie" seems to go to the ER every time he meets Inspector Hart. Det.Dempsey is the female detective who gets stuck as Hart's partner. But he's a whizz at solving cases.
