The events of the 5th season finale were scripted by Paul Simms to provide a new direction for the show if NBC had OK'd a 6th season, and would have had the WNYX staff joining Jimmy James at a small AM radio station in New Hampshire.
Paul Simms envisioned a 6th season of the show to take place at a small AM station in New Hampshire after Jimmy James decided to retire there. The idea never came to fruition because NBC canceled the show after five seasons.
