Dick Loudon, a New York writer of "How To" books, decides to put his knowledge to practical use by renovating and re-opening an authentic colonial inn in scenic Norwich, Vermont. Leaving city life behind, Dick and his somewhat skeptical wife, Joanna, arrived full of anticipation at their new home, the Stratford Inn.
