Mistakes/Goofs

  • Goof (continuity error): Sal removes the paper umbrella from a drink and in the next shot the umbrella is back.
  • Goof (continuity error): Phil corrected Claire that their song was "If You Leave" and that he sang it at their wedding. However, later during their trip in Hawaii, Phil reveals that Claire and he never had a proper wedding.
  • Goof (revealing mistake): When Hayley tries to sneak out the back door only to be caught by Jay, she places her hand on the window of the door as she opens it. The window appears to waver as she touches it. The window appears to not be glass.

  • Edward Norton plays the fictional bass player and backing singer for Spandau Ballet, Izzy LaFontaine. The real bassist and singer for Spandau Ballet was Martin Kemp.
  • "Great Expectations" marks the third time Ty Burrell has worked opposite Edward Norton. The two had previously worked together on The Incredible Hulk and the off-Broadway play Burn This.
