- Will Toale was originally cast as Arthur Curry but left due to creative differences.
- The creation of this pilot stemmed from the episode "Smallville" (2001) {Aqua (#5.4)}. Alan Ritchson played Arthur Curry in the episode but he was not considered for the pilot because the creators did not want it to be a spin-off from Smallville.
- After the pilot was not picked up, it was released for download on iTunes and was the #1 downloaded program. It was the first unsold pilot to be available on iTunes.
