Mel, the grown-up former wild child of a political family is now a local politician herself. When her sister ends up in prison and brother-in-law flees after a scandal hits, Mel must take responsibility for her teenaged niece Lennox and pre-adolescent nephew Ryder. ABC Family has decided that Melissa & Joey deserve the chance to celebrate their 100th anniversary. The network has renewed the program for a fourth season, during which it will pass into triple digits. Already ABC Family extended the third season by 20 episodes to 36 total. That season is scheduled to premiere on May 29th at 8 p.m.
