Summary: The show begins with the largest Mystery Box in Masterchef history on the stage in front of the contestants, and as it is lifted Chef Paula Dean is revealed. As special guest judge, Paula Dean has selected Chicken as the protein for this Mystery Box challenge as well as other traditional Southern ingredients. The winner of the Mystery Box challenge is give amnesty and also the advantage of selecting the teams to work together in the elimination challenge. The remaining six contestants, divided into three teams, must create a sushi platter in sixty minutes, but as usual there is a twist, they must do it as a tag team, trading off at fifteen minute intervals.
