Season 3 Quotes

03x11 - Adam's Ribs Season 3 / Episode 11: - Adam's Ribs

Radar: [confused as to why Hawkeye wants to place a phone call to Chicago in the middle of the night] Chicago?
Hawkeye: That toddlin' town. Home of the stockyards. Mrs. O'Leary's cow. The White Sox, the Cubs, Carl Sandberg.
Radar: Who's he pitch for?
Hawkeye: The poet. Chicago. Hog butcher for the world. Toolmaker. Stacker of wheat. Player with railroads and the nation's freight handler. Stormy, husky, brawling, City of the Big Shoulders. Sandberg knew, Radar. Spareribber for the universe! Maker of meat on a bone! The home of the pigsicle! Give me your tired, your poor... your cole slaw.
03x19 - Aid Station Season 3 / Episode 19: - Aid Station

Hawkeye: In my locker.
Captain John McIntyre: Yeah.
Hawkeye: There's a letter.
Captain John McIntyre: Ok.
Hawkeye: It's my will.

Hawkeye: I leave everything to the Benjamin Franklin Pierce Memorial Brothel.
Captain John McIntyre: [laughs] I'll deliver it in person.

Season 3 Trivia

  • Episode 05 - Goof (factual errors): Trapper narrowly prevents Frank from removing a patient's kidney, saving the soldier's life since he only has one. But a man with only one kidney would have been declared 4F and would have been denied a chance to serve in the Army.
  • Episode 08 - The title is based on the movie/play Life with Father which in the 1940's was the longest running show on Broadway (NYC).
  • Episode 04 - Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Lieutenant General Kelly is mistakenly referred to as Major General Kelly by his aide while describing how the General's death will be explained while the aide is ordering up air and shore bombardment on the General's position.
  • Episode 16 - Goof (revealing mistake): When Hawkeye falls in the mud, he laughs and refers to Hot Lips as "Loretta", the actress' name.
  • Episode 08 - In the episode, Trapper and Hawkeye mentions Capt. Forrest, one of the main characters in the M*A*S*H movie and novel.
