Loosely based on the autobiographical books by Erma Bombeck and set in her own hometown of Dayton, Ohio, Maggie revolves around the day-to-day life of Maggie Weston, a middle-aged woman who never really aspired to be anything more than a housewife. Her husband, Len, on the other hand, is the very goal-oriented vice principal of Fillmore High. They have three boys: precocious 8-year-old Bruce.
