In the title sequence for the show while Louie is in the pizza shop, there is a foreground, out of focus person flipping off the camera.
The segment in which Louie accompanies his daughter on a school field trip was based on a real-life experience of Louis C.K.'s. He really did accompany his daughter on a field trip in which the bus driver did not know how to get to the destination, illegally drove the bus on the highway, and hit an overpass.
Scenes were filmed featuring Nancy Shayne as Nancy and Jeremy Zorek as Nancy's son, Never. But they were deleted.
A scene was filmed featuring Todd Barry, Nick DiPaolo, Rick Shapiro, and Rachel Feinstein. But it was deleted.
Louis C.K.'s production deal with FX involved him taking on a small per-episode budget (starting at $200,000 and being raised to $250,000 for Season 2) in exchange for total creative freedom. FX does not submit script notes or other production suggestions, and the cable network does not see the episodes until CK brings them finished copies.
