Trivia
- During the shooting, Matthew Fox and John Terry were the only actors who knew the proper finale. The rest of the cast in the church had no idea about the real sense of the scene.
- According to Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, he was offered the chance to make a cameo appearance as Mr. Eko but was unable to come to an agreement regarding his salary.
- Like the rest of season finales in Lost, this was a double episode set to run for 80 minutes, but Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse asked ABC to grant them more time to finish plots properly.
- SPOILER: According to Jorge Garcia's podcast, Matthew Fox almost suffered a deadly injury in the filming of the finale. In a combination of bad and good luck, Jack got stabbed with a real knife in the fight scene with Locke. Before shooting, Matthew was fitted with various types of padding to protect him from the collapsible stunt knife, which the stunt coordinator said could still hurt. When filming, Locke was filmed using the real knife at first, then he would reach off screen and swap for the collapsible knife. When reaching off screen, he accidentally grabbed the same real knife and stabbed Jack with the real knife. Luckily, the one pad that they had settled on to protect him was the only pad with Kevlar. Instead of receiving a deadly wound, Matthew Fox got a bad bruise.
