Mistakes/Goofs

  • Goof (revealing mistake): After the plane crashes one of the rows in the cabin is seen damaged and torn out of place. It is extremely improbable that only one row would be damaged while all other seats are perfectly fine.
  • Goof (revealing mistake): Ben brings Sayid a sandwich. As Ben hands the plate through the bars, the plate makes the sound of a china plate being scraped. However, it's obviously a paper plate. In a later scene, the same type of paper plate is heard shattering against a wall.
  • Goof (continuity error): When Sayid shows up at the marina, he tells Ben "If I see you again, it'll be extremely unpleasant for us both." However, in the original episode this conversation occurred in (S5E05 - 'This Place Is Death'), the line was "And if I see you, or him, again, it'll be extremely unpleasant for all of us."
  • Goof (plot holes): A long curly haired Arab walking around Moscow in leather jacket and a muffler pistol in his pocket - in reality he would be stopped by every single militia patrol for ID check and personal search every 7.5 minutes on average.
  • Goof (continuity error): SPOILER: When Sayid shoots Ben, Sayid being the trained killer he is, his shoot hits Ben in the (viewer's right) left side, about where Ben's heart is. When the next episode begins, and for its remainder, Ben has a bullet wound in his right side (viewer's left) instead.

Trivia

  • In the flashback at the bar, Sayid is drinking McClutcheon's, the same Scotch Charles Widmore had in his office and at his bedside, and that Charles and Hurley used to get Desmond drunk on the island.
  • Young Ben gives Sayid a copy of "A Separate Reality: Further Conversations with Don Juan" by Carlos Castaneda.
  • Ben refers to the man Sayid kills in Moscow as Andropov. This last name is well known to Russian viewers. Yury Andropov was the Chief of the KGB for 15 years (1967 - 1982) and made KGB the notorious omni-powerful and omnipresent organization. After the death of Leonid Brezhnev, Andropov was the Soviet leader for 15 months and died from diabetes in 1983.
  • During the scene in Moscow, the fake snow damaged some of the cars and ABC had to pay for paint jobs on many of them.
