MISTAKES/GOOFS

FACT: The number for Penny that Desmond retrieves is before the London area code switch over. When he dials it in the present it would have changed over. No amount of money Penny could have paid would prevent this.
DATE: The auctioneer says that the ship Black Rock was lost at sea on its maiden voyage in 1845. As we have previously seen, the Black Rock carried dynamite, which was invented in 1863.
CONT: When Desmond is speaking with Mr. Widmore in the restroom, Widmore washes his hands by grabbing a towel from a tray to the right of the sink. He leaves the water running and leaves the restroom. Desmond then flashes back to the boat. When Desmond flashes back to the restroom it is obvious that the tray is to the left of the sink that was left on by Mr. Widmore in the previous scene.

TRIVIA

The lot number for the Black Rock journal at the auction is "2342." 23 and 42 are both in the sequence of the mythical island "numbers."
When Daniel tells Desmond that he needs to find Daniel back in 1996 at Oxford, he tells Desmond to tell the past Daniel to set the device to 2.342, oscillating at 11 Hertz. 23 and 42 are both in the sequence of Hurley's "numbers."
