MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: SPOILER: In the opener, Jack leads the survivors up the coastline with the water on everyone's right, jungle on the left. After the commercial break, they are still walking, but now it's reversed- the ocean's on everyone's left.
FAKE: SPOILER: When Hurley is about to hit Ryan with the Volkswagen Van, you can see Ryan's body start getting thrown backward before the van even hits him.
CONT: When Sarah is talking to Jack in the hospital the band-aid on Jacks head changes size.
FAIR: At the pharmacy, Jack tries to get a refill on oxycodone (percocet), a schedule II narcotic drug. Refills are not permitted on schedule II drug prescriptions. However, this is not a goof as the pharmacist refuses to fill his prescription.
CONT: When Bonnie went to call Ben, on the underwater station, in the first scene the door is wide open. After the angle changes, the door is closed and she has to open it.

TRIVIA

SPOILER: The final scene, which reveals that the flashback is actually a flash-forward to life after the survivors are off the island, was kept a secret even from the show's cast. Only 'Matthew Fox' and Evangeline Lilly, the two actors in the scene, knew about it before the episode aired.
The final iteration in the radio transmission is number 17550445.
As Jack is driving to the funeral, listening to "Scentless Apprentice" by Nirvana on his stereo, he is reading the obituary of the person who's funeral he is driving to. The date of death listed on the obit is April 5th, the same date that Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. It is possibly the first use of a Nirvana song on television since Courtney Love sold 25% of the rights to the Nirvana catalog.
Danielle Rousseau (Mira Furlan) states that she recorded her radio message 16 years ago, 3 days before her daughter Alex (Tania Raymonde) was born.
