Patchy: You would not understand.
Kate: Try me.
Patchy: I misspoke. What I meant to say is, you are not capable of understanding.
Kate: And why am I not capable?
Patchy: Because you are not on the list.

Mistakes/Goofs
- Goof (continuity error): When Claire follows Desmond, and Desmond catches the bird, his right shirt sleeve changes positions between shots (time stamp 33:30). As he reaches out to pick up the bird, his right sleeve is fully extended. When he turns to show the bird to Claire, the sleeve is up above his elbow.
- Goof (continuity error): When Charlie is reading the note Claire is sending with the seagull he is seen folding the paper (38:20). The camera cuts to a close up of Charlie and Claire, he then folds the paper again.
- Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The police officer interviewing Claire after her car crash introduced himself as Officer Barnes. Australian police refer to themselves by their ranks, so he would have said that he was Constable Barnes. The same error appears in the credits.

- The book Sawyer is reading is 'Fountainhead' by Ayn Rand.
- Par avion means "by air" in French.
- Claire's aunt Lindsey was the woman visited by a drunk Christian Shepard during his trip in Australia in "Lost" (2004) {Two for the Road (#2.20)}.
- Sayid's electrical map reveals two interesting features of the Others camp: two underground passages that seem to lead far beyond the protected perimeter.
