MISTAKES/GOOFS
- CONT: SPOILER: In the Finale, during the scene where Sam is looking for his younger self on the boat, the rifle he's carrying switches back and forth from a Ruger Mini-14/Mini-30 type to an AK/SKS type with a gas tube over the barrel. Neither of these rifles is appropriate to the time since the 70's portion of the series takes place in 1973 and the Mini-14 wasn't introduced until 1974. AK's and SKS variants would have also been extremely difficult to find in the US back in the 1970's and unlikely to be in the hands of a civilian. However, the finale established that both the 1973 and 2008 time-lines were computer simulations so the computer may have simply chosen a rifle that was in its memory to create the scenario Sam was going through.
- CONT: In the series finale as Sam is searching the boat for his father armed with a rifle, the rifle changes from a Ruger Mini-14, to a Kalasnikov (AK-47) type rifle in one quick closeup shot. The next shot then shows him still holding the original rifle. This is noticeable because of the distinctive gas tube over the barrel on an AK unlike the bare barrel of a Mini-14.
TRIVIA
- The title is from the 1974 song "Life Is a Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me)" written by Paul DiFranco and Norman Dolph.
