Lawman is a western tv series originally telecast from 1958 to 1962 featuring John Russell as Marshal Dan Troop and Peter Brown as Deputy Johnny McKay. Set in Laramie, Wyoming, the action often centered on the Birdcage Saloon, owned by Lily Merrill. The half hour show often was of high quality due to the camaradarie of the cast members, guest stars, and several experienced directors.

  • Beginning in season three, Warner Brothers began toning down the violence on the show. Instead of killing the villains, Dan and Johnny would still shoot them, but they would only get wounded.
